Things to do in Cheltenham
When it comes to things to do in Cheltenham, where do we start?! Whatever your interests, we guarantee there'll be something for you here. Head over to the Visit Cheltenham - Things to Do pages to explore and uncover more about this Regency town.
Cheltenham has a wonderful mix of both traditional and moden culture and is known as being the most complete Regency town in the UK. Cheltenham has a variety of things to do whilst you're staying here on business or for an event such as beautiful parks and gardens, theatres, art, museums and galleries.
We would recommend that you don't miss out on Cheltenham's most iconic Regency feature, The Caryatids in Montpellier. The Caryatids are 'armless ladies' and a type of column which support the architecutral facades of the chic and fashionable boutiques in Montpellier Walk.
Why not explore the Holst Birthplace Museum, where composer Gustav Holst was born in 1874 and discover his Music Room, complete with the piano he composed The Planets on.
For anyone wanting to see some of the finest examples of architecture, we recommend a trip to the Pittville Pump Rooms, which is the jewel of Cheltenham's Regency architecture and the grandest survival of the town's many spa buildings. Visitors can still sample the waters at the original pump, however we understand it's not very pleasant in taste!
One of the best ways to enjoy our Regency town is to join a guided walking tour with our Blue Badge Guide and Tour Manager, Anne Bartlett who is highly knowledgeable and passionate about Cheltenham, it's history and heritage.
