High Street
Shopping
Cheltenham’s High Street is the best place in the Cotswolds for your favourite big-name brands including M&S, Boots, Monsoon, Next, Primark, Urban Outfitters and many more. As you would expect, it runs through central Cheltenham and is a conservation area to preserve the historic buildings and Regency feel as far as possible. At the north-western end, the High Street merges into the newly extended Brewery Quarter, while at the south-eastern end it joins the bottom of Bath Road.
There is also access to The Promenade, plus a large number of side streets which feature independent shops and restaurants, offices, and homes too. On neighbouring Clarence Street, you’ll find Superdry, the international fashion brand born in Cheltenham, plus Starbucks, Ryman's and round the corner, the Wilson Art Gallery and Museum.
The Regent Arcade shopping centre, which can be accessed directly off the High Street or via The Promenade, is home to great names like Decathlon, H&M, HMV and Flying Tiger.
The High Street also has a fantastic John Lewis store, on the site of the former Beechwood Shopping Centre. In and around the High Street, there are many great cafes and restaurants including Wagamamas and Yo! Don’t miss Cambray Place, where there are more shops and restaurants to check out and the occasional festival stage, and the eclectic mix on Winchcombe Street and Pittville Street.
Food & Drink
Dotted along the High Street and its many side streets, you will find some excellent pubs selling craft beer and cider. They often have live music from local bands or DJs playing late into the night. The Frog and Fiddle is a favourite live music venue with students and Sandford Park Ale House is a winner of CAMRA National Pub of the Year too. Many also become host venues for the Cheltenham Music Festival and Jazz Festival, adding an extra dimension to the town.
The Town is also blessed with a plethora of independent eateries including 288 Bar and Wok for Chinese Food, Tailors Eating House for British / Gastro and My Pastalicious for delicious Italian nibbles and wine. You will be spoiled for choice on the High Street!
