Day Trips
With our excellent road, rail and public transport network, not to mention a plethora of businesses who organise self-guided and guided tours, you can book a short break or holiday in Cheltenham, but still make the most of famous points of interest in the Midlands and South West. We have developed specific guides for sights within a 30-minute and 60-minute radius of Cheltenham, or you can look for tour guides and locations further afield using our information below.
Towns & Villages
The cities of Bristol, Birmingham and Oxford are all within a 90-minute radius of Cheltenham and can be reached by road, rail or public transport. There is plenty to occupy you for the whole day before returning to Cheltenham, or they can be combined with trips to other towns and villages. Other day-trip highlights include Shakespeare Country and Stratford-upon-Avon, Blenheim Palace and Woodstock and you can even reach London in just over two hours.
Tours and Day Trips
For day-long tours and activities, we recommend:
- Brewerism Brewery Tours who offer real-ale and brewery-focussed tours around The Cotswolds. Their tours are guided and prices include entry fees and transportation, with half- and full-day tours available.
- The Romantic Road which is a self-led driving tour around The Cotswolds. See some of the prettiest sites and choose from a one- or two-day option. If you want someone to organise accommodation and classic car hire for you, we recommend speaking to Compass Holidays who are tour specialists.
- Tour Guide: Anne Bartlett of Tour & Explore. Anne is a Blue Badge guide and local expert who can design a bespoke guided tour for you, or you can join one of her pre-booked ones.
- Minibus Tours of The Cotswolds arranged by CJP tours. You can join other individuals or groups, or organise a tour of your own.
- Cotswold Foodie Tours who arrange guided tours of the region with a total food & drink focus.
