Our Discovery Trails are designed on trail maps and placed in a Trail Pack with loads of other goodies. This is delivered in the post to wherever you need it, whether that's at home or your holiday accommodation. ​

We also deliver Trail Packs abroad at affordable rates if you want a Trail Pack before you arrive in the UK. There are 2 circular trails to follow, one in the north and one in the south Cotswolds. Each takes a day to complete learning about the Cotswolds, as you discover different places.

There are several start points on each trail so you can begin and end your trail close to where you live or are staying. The trails are designed to complete by car but with frequent stops where you are encouraged to explore different places on foot. Included is a mixture of Cotswold market towns, picture postcard villages and sites of significant cultural and historical interest. It's all designed to to allow you to have fun, learn about the Cotswolds and do it independently.

2 Discovery Trail maps, Kids Cotswold Challenge, Local Logo Challenge, a compass, pens, pads of paper, UV light, intro letter (keep this you will need it) car stickers and badges.

FABRIC OR FOLDING

There are 2 trail pack options for you to choose from. One includes folding maps with both trails. The other includes the trail maps printed on a high quality fabric.

Gather a group of friends & family and set a date for a discovery trail. 2-4 people in a car is ideal. We have designed the Cotswold Discovery Trail to encourage exploring the outdoors, learn about the Cotswolds and to be 'SCREEN FREE', using real maps.

Questions and clues are there for you to answer on the route to observe from the car and also at each stop where you explore on foot. Many of the questions are designed to use the maps themselves where they have to be folded in certain ways, different light sources used to reveal clues or the maps used in conjunction with physical features you need to find at certain locations. ​

Your answers can be filled in on the maps themselves using the spaces provided. The answers can be found on a hidden page on this website. The details of how to access it will be in your trail pack.

There are two Cotswold Discovery Trails, one in the north and one in the south Cotswolds. You receive both in your trail pack. The trails are written and designed as circular routes that take a day long to complete, allowing you to finish close to where you begun. Each trail has 5-6 designated start points around the route making each trail easily accessible form anywhere in the Cotswold.

Each route brings a balance of town, village, countryside and historical monument for you to discover on each. The trails traverse the 4 historic counties of Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Worcestershire, but they are not just a journey across the Cotswolds they are a journey through time, allowing you to discover the full depth and rich history of the Cotswolds as well as its stunning beauty.
