Theatre Tours
We have a brilliant theatrical scene in Cheltenham, and aside from exceptional year-round events programmes, many of our theatres offer guided tours, letting you see the very best of the architecture, and get a sneak peek at the parts you don't otherwise see.
The Everyman Theatre
7-10 Regent Street, Cheltenham GL50 1HQ | +44 (0) 1242 572573
The Everyman is happy to organise backstage tours for groups, which is an exciting way to add something a little special to your visit. The Everyman was designed by Frank Matcham and is believed to be the oldest surviving, complete example. Tours can be arranged in their own right, or arranged pre-theatre before taking in a show. The venue can offer you catering options including drinks & nibbles or a full three course meal in your own private function room.
The backstage tour tells the rich history of the theatre, from its construction in 1891, through the war years and many times of change up to present day, as well as unveiling life in a busy working theatre today. The beautifully restored auditorium is a must see and is a fine example of Victorian architecture, undergoing extensive restoration in 2011. This fascinating tour takes you everywhere backstage including the star dressing rooms, on the stage, into the costume department and high up on the fly floor.
Visit the Everyman to see ballet, opera, drama, dance, comedy, music events or traditional family pantomime. The Everyman Theatre offers generous benefits for group bookers with discounted tickets and a free 'organiser' ticket for a group of 20 or more. Groups get priority booking over general public so as soon as our new season brochure is issued (four times a year) group tickets can be reserved with confirmation and payment at a time to suit you .
