Please note many streets close to the racecourse are not available for the public to park during Cheltenham Festival week, residents are able to obtain special free temporary parking permits from the county council.

Car parks in Cheltenham Town Centre

Planning on enjoying a pre-races breakfast in town before heading to the racecourse?  Cheltenham Borough Council car parks are available for all-day parking. Those to the north of the town and closest to the racecourse include Pittville Pump Room, Albemarle Gate, Town Centre East and Sherborne Place.

More central car parks available include Regent Arcade, Rodney Road, Chelt Walk, St James Street and the High Street all located in the town centre and a pleasant approx. 30-minute stroll to the racecourse past Pittville Park. Full details.

Prince of Wales Stadium

Tommy Taylors Lane, Cheltenham, GL50 4RN

Prince of Wales Stadium is a short 20-minute walk to Cheltenham Racecourse and an ideal location for racegoers. Pre book your car for £20 per day, subject to availability. Early booking is recommended. Arrive and park from 9am. The car park will close at 8pm and all cars must have vacated by this time. Minibus/coach pre-booked spaces can be booked separately. Cheltenham Tigers Rugby Club

Newlands Park Sports & Social Venue, Southam Lane, Southam, Cheltenham, GL52 3PE

Located a short walk from Cheltenham Racecourse, parking is available to book for all four days of the Cheltenham Festival for £40, or £12.50 per day. Please note this is an early bird offer, expiring 11 March. Price will then increase to £15 per day or £50 for all 4 days. Book here.

Cheltenham Town Football Club

Completely-Suzuki Stadium, Whaddon Road, Cheltenham, GL52 5NA

Once again Cheltenham Town Football Club are offering racegoers a parkign and breakfast package during Cheltenham Festival race week. Enjoy breakfast from 8am until 11:30am in the Robins Nest bar. ITV Racing will be broadcast each morning, with the bar open for drinks.

Public transportation to Cheltenham Festival

Cheltenham Spa train station

Queens Road, Cheltenham, GL51 8NP

The nearest train station is Cheltenham Spa. Dedicated Cheltenham Festival Stagecoach bus services will run from the train station, Cheltenham town centre and the Cheltenham Racecourse (south car park) over the four days. Stagecoach tickets cost £6 for an all day ticket and £4 for a single ticket. Plan your journey via the Stagecoach website or app.

Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway (GWSR)

3 Evesham Road, Prestbury, Cheltenham, GL50 4QB

GWSR is an alternative and fun way to travel to the Cheltenham Festival. Depart from Toddington and enjoy a scenic 35-minute journey through the spectacular Cotswolds countryside to Cheltenham Racecourse train station.
