Coming soon: Masterchef winner bringing artisan eatery to Cheltenham

Taking over one of our imposing four storey Regency townhouses in Regent Street, Simon Wood, winner of Masterchef2015 and the man behind critically-acclaimed Wood Restaurant in Manchester, wil be opening an artisan eatery in Cheltenham. Of high import on the menu will be exceptional breakfast and brunch offerings, as well as Sunday Lunch.

Speaking to The Caterer, Simon highlighted that Cheltenham's cafe culture and the quality of produce in the surrounding area both contributed to his decision to open in the town. He also explained that the outlet will be a completely different concept to Wood Restaurant, but will maintain the ethos of classic flavours served with playful authenticity for which the brand is renowned. 

The announcement was made on social media with Simon explaining "Woodkraft is the next step in my culinary journey. What we’re doing is opening an artisan eatery, it’s going to be a more accessible dining concept – everyday dining for everyday people. We’re going to use local products cooked by and produced by craftsman."

The opening date for the new restaurant is expected to be later this year, but has not been officially announced.
