Many thanks to everyone who joined us this last fortnight in celebrating Cheltenham's spectacular and unique architecture on Instagram. It was a joy to see all of your photos. One week certainly wasn't enough to celebrate all of our buildings and so we extended the weekly photo challenge to two. Our favourite entries can be found below.
Our theme this week is Cheltenham Festivals. Cheltenham is known as The Festival Town, we are proud to host over 25 major festivals, some of them world-renowned, in our Regency town annually.
Of course, this year many of our festivals have had to be postponed however many have made it online, including the Cheltenham Science Festival at Home, taking place from tomorrow until the 7th June. Over the next week we are going to be sharing with you fascinating facts about our annual festivals. We would love you to join in by sharing your photos of past festivals you've enjoyed in Cheltenham. All you need to do is tag us in @visitcheltenham and use the hashtag #OurChelt. We look forward to seeing your pics!
Without further ado, here are a few of our favourite photos from the last fortnight.
Instagram photo challenge: Cheltenham Architecture
The magnificent Pittville Pump Room featured many times on Instagram over the last fortnight…
A few of our spectacular churches also featured…
Lots of our entries featured local Regency homes. (Many with the hashtag #dreamhouse which is completely understandable. They truly are a thing of beauty!)
Local talented photographer, Jo-Anne Hale, posted some incredible reflection shots, capturing Cheltenham in a beautiful, unique light. With many of us spending time during lockdown reflecting on life her posts seemed particularly apt...
Of course the stunning glass fronted John Lewis also made an appearance on a few grids! We particularly liked this incredible shot by Paul Stratford...
A few of our most instagrammable buildings in Montpellier, made an appearance - Pink Vintage, Montpellier Wine Bar & The Ivy Montpellier Brasserie…
Our favourite photos of the fortnight both featured Cheltenham College. The first, an impressive tribute to the NHS keyworkers, captured perfectly by Neil Morgan Design was truly a work of art by the talented college grounds team…
And the second, this beauty below by @creamesy featuring Cheltenham College as it looks during two different seasons. Isn’t it clever?!
Next week we will announce the winner of the overnight stay at The George Hotel. So come join us, meet other amateur and professional photographers passionate about Cheltenham and learn about our fabulous festivals!
