Iconic brand PizzaExpress has announced it will be opening its new premises at The Brewery Quarter Cheltenham on the 25 November, just in time for the festive season. It is the latest name to announce confidence in the scheme, following a throng of recent openings in the South West’s leading lifestyle and entertainment destination.
The 3,600 sq ft restaurant will sit amongst an impressive line-up, including recent newcomers such as social darts phenomenon Flight Club, Mowgli, Pho Vietnamese Street Cafe, The Alchemist, Escape Hunt, and Hub Box, taking the leisure occupancy rate of the scheme up to 100% - and occupancy overall to 98%.
Nikki Kontarines, Director of Martin Commercial Properties, which manages the scheme, said: “We’re delighted to welcome PizzaExpress to The Brewery Quarter. Their new concept fit-out looks great and fits in perfectly amongst our fantastic range of modern venues. Confidence in The Brewery Quarter has never been higher, with interest in the last remaining retail units still strong and us receiving a nomination for Placemaking Award at the Property Week Awards 2022. Our lineup appeals to a broad demographic of people, and PizzaExpress will no doubt be a welcome attraction to many.”
Oli Marcroft, Head of Leisure at KLM Retail said: “We’ve worked hard over the past 4 years to reposition the scheme and attract modern, relevant, and complimentary brands to The Brewery Quarter. Despite other interests, it was felt that with their broad and loyal customer base and an exciting new fit-out, Pizza Express would be the ideal tenant to
occupy the last available F&B unit in the scheme. The scheme continues to trade above expectations despite the economic headwinds and we look forward to the latest opening!”
Helen Belli, Territory Manager at PizzaExpress commented: “The Brewery Quarter is such a vibrant scheme and popular destination for eating out in Gloucestershire, so we’re excited to be a part of it. Our new venue will be our most up-to-date concept; with foliage on the walls and glazing around two sides, it will be a light and airy haven - and provide the same great food as our customers know and expect. We’re looking forward to welcoming our customers - old and new - to our new location in Cheltenham.”
Founded in 1965, PizzaExpress was the brainchild of Italian Peter Boizot, who opened his first restaurant in London’s Soho. Since then, the same PizzaExpress values of great food, evocative music, and distinctive design have remained in their DNA. Today, they take the same pride in offering great hospitality and unforgettable experiences. Customers can expect the legendary Dough Balls with garlic butter, as well as tastes from around the world on the newly-launched, autumn menu that includes the Tikka Paneer pizza and the return of the Sloppy Giuseppe. Not to mention plenty of veggie, vegan and gluten-free options too.
PizzaExpress will be positioned on the ground floor of Unit 13, next to Cupola Tower. It forms part of the regeneration of the former unit, which has been split into two units to accommodate office space on the first floor. The modern office space will occupy 4,000 square feet once fitted out and will be available to let via Oliver Workman from THP Chartered Surveyors.
PizzaExpress is due to open at The Brewery Quarter on the 25 Novemver 2022.
