The Everyman Theatre has excitedly announced the launch of a new addition to its Everyvoice Choir family: the Sing Out Proud Choir. This vibrant new collective has been designed to be an inclusive space for members of the LGBTQ+ community, and their allies, celebrating diversity and the power of music.

The new Sing Out Proud Choir will meet weekly, on Tuesdays, during school term time at The Bottle of Sauce in Cheltenham from 7pm-8pm, starting on Tuesday 17th September.

Led by the esteemed Everyvoice Musical Director, Caroline Mander, Sing Out Proud promises to be a welcoming, joyful space where everyone is encouraged to express themselves through song. Embracing the PRIDE ethos; Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Diversity, and Excellence, the choir is open to all with no auditions required.

Caroline Mander, Musical Director of Everyvoice said,

“Scientific studies have shown that group singing releases endorphins and oxytocin, and these are hormones that help to reduce levels of stress and anxiety and improve wellbeing. Along with this our new Sing Out Proud choir will give members the opportunity to meet new people, have fun and experience the many benefits of collective singing.”

The Everyvoice choirs began over twelve years ago with just twenty members signing up initially, however it has since grown to over 100 singers, encompassing five choirs that cater to a wide range of ages and singing abilities. The Everyvoice choirs regularly perform on the main stage at the Everyman Theatre, and at other venues across Gloucestershire.

In addition to the new Sing Out Proud Choir, the Everyman Theatre has highlighted the remaining places at their other daytime choirs for the upcoming term:

-            Earlybirds: meet weekly at 10am – 11am on Wednesdays
