New Openings
Jai Ho
Bishop's Cleeve welcomed its latest restaurant this January, as the team behind JM Socials unveiled their newest Indian Restaurant. It joins the likes of Prithvi, Bhoomi Kitchen, and Bao + BBQ.
Jai Ho, meaning "let victory prevail" in Hindi, is all about celebrating good times with great food and drinks. The menu features small Indian barbecue plates, such as crispy fried okra, chilli chicken, and Wagyu sheikh kebabs. While at the bar, diners will find craft beers from local Gloucestershire breweries.
Japes
Bringing a 'taste of joy' to the Cheltenham Promenade, Japes has opened its first restaurant this side of London.
Known for their signature, 'London-style' deep dish pizzas, visitors can expect sweet caramelised cheese and a ton of toppings! At Japes it's their goal to bring a smile to every customer's face.

Rosa's Thai

Wingstop

Originally founded in the US, the home of fast-food-feasts, Wingstop crossed the pond in 2018 and quickly grew an empire of over 55 sites. With 10 unique flavours to choose from, ranging from mild to atomic, there's something to suit all tastes.
Re-openings & Refurbishments
The Tavern
Having changed hands last year from the Lucky Onion group to Youngs & Co Brewery, the Tavern's new owner hopes to breathe a new lease of life into the popular town centre venue. Making it a favourite hangout for residents and visitors.
Expect board games, drinks from local suppliers, and a delicious new menu that includes quirky bites including deep-fried olives, spam fitters and fried hake tacos.
Curry Corner
A Cheltenham staple, Cheltenham's oldest curry house has reopened its doors after acquiring two AA Rosettes for food excellence.
Boasting a long career of critical acclaim and prestigious accolades, the restaurant received international exposure in 2009 when it featured as a finalist on Gordon Ramsays The F Word.
Owner Shamsul has been working in the Curry Corner kitchen for 47 years, with plenty of time to perfect his craft. His original recipes feature innovative twists that make for a culinary journey like no other.
The Chapel
Previously Revolution Cheltenham, the newly reopened Chapel Bar was acquired by the team behind popular late-night Cheltenham club Home & Botanic.
The iconic bar, set in the confines of a stunning Grade II-listed former church, will initially open on Fridays and Saturdays only with plans to bring it back to its full former glory throughout 2025.
Awards Roundup
Several Cheltenham food and drink venues were awarded prestigious accolades in 2024.
Cheltenham's premiere fine-dining restaurant Lumiere, came in at number 9 of the Harden's top 100 UK restaurants last year. The Nook on Five took home the 2024 Diners Choice award from Open Table. While 4 AA rosettes restaurant Le Champignon Sauvage, was the winner of the Observer Food Monthly award for outstanding contribution.
Burger fans should look no further than Cheltenham's resident burger experts The Beefy Boys, who beat out fierce competition at the World Food Championships to become the fourth-best burger in the world.
Meanwhile, the Artisan Baker in Imperial Gardens was named Food / Drink Producer of the Year 2024 at the Cotswold Life Awards.

The Cook's Club at Tailor's Eating House continues to strike a chord with customers, with each month providing a new demonstration from their head chef, before a delicious 2-course lunch. For February, it's all about pies and pastries.
🍷 French Banquet & Wine Dinner, The Greenway Hotel – 22 Feb 🍷
Arrive to canapés and Champagne, followed by a 5-course dinner and matching wine flight from France.
