‘Bánh xèo is a traditional street food in Vietnam. A crispy, stuffed rice pancake whose name refers to the sound it makes in the skillet (from xèo – 'sizzling')

A staple of Cheltenham High Street, The Little Coffee & Donut Stall has been serving residents and visitors from their cosy wooden stall since 2005.

With delicious filling for both savoury and sweet teeth, there's sure to be something to delight all customers this Pancake Day. We recommend their new chorizo and cheese for something a bit different.

Chaplais Kitchen/Deli

Located in Montpellier and Tivoli respectively, Chaplais Kitchen and Chaplais Deli are sister sites offering uncomplicated, delicious food to have in or to grab & go, for breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner.

Although the kitchen has a wider variety of dishes on offer than the deli, both have breakfast pancakes for diners to enjoy. Have yours with blueberries or chipolata sausages and maple syrup.

Number 85 Coffee & Kitchen

Founded in 2017,  Number 85 Coffee & Kitchen has quickly become known for being one of Cheltenham's independent hidden gems. Their bespoke cakes and pop-up evenings sell out in minutes and their following has been steadily growing throughout Fairview and the rest of Cheltenham.

For guaranteed fluffy American pancakes drizzled in the finest maple syrup, this is the place to head to! Enjoy with a large cup of delicious coffee to put a pep in your step for the rest of the day.

Curious Café

204 Bath Road, Cheltenham, GL53 7NE

The Curious Cafe & Bistro is an independent, small family-run business on Bath Road.

Serving hearty breakfasts, yummy lunches, homemade cakes and exquisite burgers. Diners can expect a welcoming atmosphere, a gorgeous garden, boutique decor and fabulous food.

Their brunch menu is served daily from 8 am to 2:45 pm, with four layers of buttermilk pancakes and maple syrup with bacon or fresh fruit and Chantilly cream as accompaniments. 

Café Boho

8 Great Norwood Street, Cheltenham, GL50 2AN

Located on Great Norwood Street, Café Boho is a little piece of Holland nestled in the heart of The Suffolks, Cheltenham.

Whether you’re a sweet or savoury person, their menu covers all the bases so there’s something for everyone.

Sweet selections include Biscoff, Oreo and Dutch-inspired apple and cinnamon, while for savoury lovers there are options for bacon and Cacklebean eggs.

The Find

Bringing the traditional English coffee house to Cheltenham, The Find is an inclusive, friendly cafe that aims to make everyone who crosses the threshold feel comfortable.

They offer artisan coffees and beverages, superb foods and delicacies of authentic local provenance, all within welcoming surroundings.

The Find’s pancakes can be had all day, with five-high stacks of pancakes covered in either bacon, blueberries and maple syrup, or caramelised bananas, chocolate and toasted pecans.

Boston Tea Party

Boston Tea Party is a family-owned independent small café chain, with their Cheltenham café located on the historic Clarence Street, just up from the Wilson Museum.

American pancakes are a mainstay of the menu, with two available toppings, smoked back bacon and maple syrup or blueberry compote, vanilla Greek yoghurt and maple butter. 

The Café has a first-come, first-served service style and doesn’t offer bookings, so make sure to get in quick on the day!

Sisu Pancakes

25 Clarence Parade, Cheltenham, GL50 3PA

If you’re looking to go all out this Shrove’s Tuesday then look no further than Sisu Pancakes.

Born from owner Laura’s childhood dream for a pancake cake on her birthday, Sisu’s offers pancake cakes with various unique flavours and combinations, as well as bespoke orders.

For Pancake Day, we recommend trying the luxurious crème brûlée or Nutella-flavoured pancake tubs.

WoodKraft

13 Regent Street, Cheltenham, GL50 1HE

WoodKraft was brought to Cheltenham by Simon Wood, MasterChef Champion 2015 & the WOOD Restaurant Group.

Spread across three floors of a beautiful period property on Regent Street, WoodKraft Cheltenham features the best local, provincial produce using the philosophy of farm-to-fork.

There are several pancake selections available on the menu, for something a bit different why not try a banana miso mashup? The perfect pairing of sweet and savoury.

Creams Café

Creams Café proclaims itself as the UK’s favourite dessert parlour. With over 90 cafes serving ice creams, waffles, crepes, doughnuts, sundaes and milkshakes there’s a little something to suit every sweet tooth. 

The Cheltenham Parlour can be found in the Brewery Quarter and there is a huge variety of options to choose from this Shrove Tuesday. Whether you want something classic, such as lemon and icing sugar, or something a little more extravagant, such as the Millionaires Biscoff and caramel crepe.

One of Cheltenham's newer eateries, Fioro Lounge on Bath Road is a vibrant and eccentricly decorated restaurant serving food everyday from 9 am to 11 pm.
