Summer in Cheltenham
The sun is shining and Cheltenham, The Festival Town, is gearing up for its most action-packed summer yet. With a lineup of free events, festivals, live performances, a brand new public art trail & much more to look forward to!
Lions at Large – The Pride of Gloucestershire Trail will be ‘roaring’ onto the streets of Cheltenham and Gloucester this summer from the 11 July - 14 September.
35 large Lion sculptures will be involved in this fun, free and family-friendly Wild in Art event. The lions be designed and painted by local artists; celebrating Gloucestershire’s rich history, culture and diversity. They will be joined by a Cub Club – a pride of little Lions lovingly created by local schools and community groups.
There's also fun for the whole family at the FREE Summer Jam, The Lakefest Warmup, at The Brewery Quarter. And Wychwood Festival, voted Best Family Festival at the UK Festival Awards, is returning to Cheltenham Racecourse, a three-day event not to be missed for music and comedy lovers.
Memorable summer days out are guaranteed at the Alfresco cinema nights at Ellenborough Park and not forgetting our local lido, Sandford Parks Lido.
For creative souls and the artists among us, there will be plenty to see and do in Cheltenham this summer. Everyman Theatre, Bacon Theatre, Cheltenham Town Hall and Cheltenham Playhouse all have an action-packed programme of summer shows.
