Free Events in Cheltenham
They say that nothing in life is free, but our guide proves this theory is incorrect! As well as being home to many fabulous green spaces you can see, feel, explore, discover and enjoy for free, there is also a regular rotation of free events in Cheltenham that you can pop along and experience with family and friends.
New for 2025 is Lions at Large - The Pride of Gloucestershire Trail. A roarsome, free and family-friendly Wild in Art tour, featuring 35 large lion sculptures designed and painted by local artists who will make themselves at home in and around Cheltenham and Gloucester from July to September.

No Child Left Behind's Party in the Park is a fun-filled day for children and families to experience a day of free activities including live performances in music, dance and theatre.
Another top pick has to be our Heritage Open Days, which runs for ten days every September. Plan your staycation during this time to discover some very unique and special places which open their doors during this time for visitors.
Of course, we cannot mention free events in Cheltenham, without paying homage to the Cheltenham Festivals. With the free around town… programme supported by Cheltenham BID and free events in the festival villages for Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Literature Festival and Science Festival the Festivals team put an amazing effort to feature fantastic speakers, artists, activities and music, which anyone can enjoy for free.
