Whether you fancy a night at the theatre, are a comedy connoisseur, love live music, or fancy a festival, Cheltenham is home to a brilliant blend of venues, both private and publicly funded, many housed in our heritage buildings too.
Cheltenham Town Hall is a must-see for Regency architecture, but is also one of the largest venues in Cheltenham, playing host to music, comedy, dance, weddings, exhibitions and everything in between. It is easily accessible in the Town Centre and is a stone's throw from many of our premier food & drink establishments.
Meanwhile Cheltenham Racecourse, aside from hosting an enviable jumps racing calendar, is also home to the Centaur exhibition centre and numerous smaller venue rooms. They host an annual music festival (Wychwood), business shows, PDSA Petlife and even a few conventions.
The Everyman Theatre in the Town Centre is home to an enviable events calendar, with almost daily productions on offer, including many West End favourites. The building itself is a Grade II listed beauty, designed and opened by Frank Matcham and carefully maintained in all its glory.
The Playhouse Theatre has long been a firm local favourite, combining a blend of niche productions, community plays and mainstream, well-known plays, and is a short walk from both Bath Road and the Town Centre.
Although not running daily events, Pittville Pump Room holds a number of events annually and is often privately rented as an exhibition and event venue. Meanwhile The Bacon Theatre and the Tuckwell outdoor amphitheatre, both at Dean Close School have a brilliant programme of events, working around the school calendar. The Parabola Arts Centre is part of the Cheltenham Ladies College and has a number of events each year, again working around the school's calendar.
Finally, it's worth checking out The Brewery Quarter, which as well as having buzzing nightlife scene, is also home to Cineworld Cinema, The Screening Rooms, and plays host to a number of events within the centre each year. Both of the cinemas have a number of 'live' theatre screenings each year, which allow viewers to watch famous plays and operas on screen, as they happen elsewhere in the country.
As an added bonus, each year, the Festival and major events in Cheltenham see the Town Centre transformed, with bars, restaurants and shops playing host to intimate gigs and concerts, live music, performance arts and much more...
