Travel By Steam Train
The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Heritage Railway are purveyors of classy travel, offering a quirky way to travel to Cheltenham from the many surrounding villages. The Railway is run by volunteers and offers visitors the opportunity to travel the 24-mile route on one of its many vintage engines and carriages, including a steam locomotive.
Hop on board at Broadway, Toddington, Hayles Abbey, Winchcombe or Gotherington, and disembark at the station located at Cheltenham Racecourse. Or, if you fancy it, you can of course catch the train from Cheltenham to explore the local area, and Cheltenham Racecourse is a short walk from the town centre, has plenty of parking and also has a park & ride point so you can catch the bus too.
The trains operate between March and October, with additional festive services in December each year. You can get up to date timetables, find out about the heritage engines, or book tickets on the GSWR Website.
