Discover the best of Cheltenham with new app

A new free app promoting local businesses, events and attractions to visitors and residents is being launched in Cheltenham this week in time for thousands of people visiting for Cheltenham Jazz Festival.

The Discover App includes details of 700 businesses across the town as well as information on events, attractions, and ideas for days out. It’s being brought to the town by Cheltenham BID and Visit Cheltenham (part of Cheltenham Borough Council) to encourage visitors and residents to shop, eat, and stay locally.

The Discover App is free to download onto all smartphones and promises to help people get the most out of Cheltenham whether here for a visit or rediscovering their hometown. It works alongside the town’s official guide, Visit Cheltenham, to showcase the array of businesses and attractions in the town.

Features of the app include:

• Details of local businesses, including opening hours and location, making it easy to navigate the town.
• Lots of ideas for things to do and places to go in Cheltenham for people of all ages.
• Up to date information on local events, cultural and leisure facilities.
• Users of the app can choose to see the content that interests them the most by selecting their preferences.

Belinda Hunt, operations manager at Cheltenham BID, said: “We are excited to announce the inclusion of Cheltenham on the Discover App. Seeing all the independent businesses sitting alongside the national and international brands in one easily accessible place is fantastic.”
