About
Escape Rooms
Escape Rooms Cheltenham provides fun escape room challenges for teams of up to six players, who have to work together to solve all the puzzles to escape the room in under 60 minutes.
The unique escape room games are all created in-house and are all based on local themes. Operation Foresight is the permanent room and is based on the Cheltenham icon, GCHQ, with a fictitious storyline set in the 1960s.
In addition to Operation Foresight, two other escape rooms change regularly. Themes have included: The Missing Piece, based on the Cheltenham-born composer, Gustav Holst; Hester’s Quest, building on the local folklore of Hester the Witch; Cheese Robbers, loosely based on the annual Gloucestershire cheese rolling event; and Pole Position, following in the footsteps of Cheltenham polar explorer, Edward Wilson.
All games have a standard and a challenging level, so they can be enjoyed by beginners and older children, but also give the hard-core players a challenge. The Escape Rooms Cheltenham team are dedicated to making their games as accessible as possible to all players, whatever their ability.
The rooms are great for team building. Belbin Team Roles theory is used as a guide when designing rooms and a Belbin Accredited Practitioner provides advice on how to optimise puzzles to draw out the varied behaviours exhibited by different types of people in a team.
Originally starting as a regeneration project to support the Hester’s Way area of Cheltenham, Escape Rooms Cheltenham has now grown to become a popular Cheltenham attraction. Since moving to the centre of Cheltenham in 2021, it now sees a wide variety of Cheltenham residents, and tourists, taking on the escape room challenges, including for hen/stag parties, birthday parties, and family groups of all ages.
