Councillor Flo Clucas member for communities and safety said: “It is great to see how many local good causes have signed up to the lottery. We know the past couple of years have badly hit our local charities and community groups. It has been hard for them to fundraise in the usual way and that’s why they need our help now more than ever and the lottery is a very simple and rewarding way to do this.”
Claire Charlton, Head of Fundraising at LINC said: "Being part of the Cheltenham Lottery has been a great fundraising tool for LINC. As a small local charity, we have really benefited from the funds raised through this support. The money has helped provide emotional support for patients through the work of the LINC Clinical Psychologists as well providing financial assistance for patients who face difficulties as a result of their illness. It is wonderful to receive support from within Cheltenham that goes directly towards helping leukaemia patients here in Gloucestershire. Thank you to everyone who has helped us."
Alison Jarvis, Head of Fundraising at Cheltenham Animal Shelter said: “We have used the funds from the Cheltenham Lottery plus those from an appeal to our supporters to create a new rabbit bonding pen, update their facilities and create a dry storage area for rabbit bedding and food. Rabbits are social animals, but need bonding before they can live together so this facility is key to our rabbit welfare. We wouldn't have been able to do all of this without the contribution of funds from the Cheltenham Lottery.”
