The people of Gloucestershire have named The Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham, their favourite theatre in the region, in the Red Kite Days Gloucestershire Awards 2022.
The Red Kite Days Awards launched in Gloucestershire for the first time this year, asking the public to nominate their favourite family-friendly local businesses in categories such as ‘Best Museum’, ‘Best for Eating Out’ and ‘Community Support’. The public were then asked to vote for their favourites from a shortlist, with the winners announced on Friday 21st October. Over 50k votes were placed in total.

David Allen, Head of Sales and Marketing at The Everyman said “We are exceptionally proud to have been voted Gloucestershire’s favourite theatre, and would like to thank everybody who supported us by voting. We strive to provide a wide range of entertainment at The Everyman, with something to suit everybody, and put a lot of effort into creating a diverse programme of family-friendly entertainment.”
The news comes in the same week that it was announced that The Great British Bake Musical will be transferring to the West End in March 2023, after hosting it’s world premiere at The Everyman Theatre in August.
Upcoming family-friendly productions at The Everyman Theatre include their much-anticipated annual pantomime Dick Whittington and His Cat Tweedy featuring Gloucestershire favourite Tweedy the Clown. Their jam-packed season of Christmas entertainment will also feature family-friendly productions of The Snow Queen and Lark Rise to Candleford which will be sure to keep Gloucestershire families busy over the school holidays.
