The wait is over as The Showcase returns this week

The Showcase Meeting is within reach and the wait is nearly over, the Home of Jump Racing will once again open its doors for another exhilarating season of racing!

This year is more exciting and special than ever, as they embark on a season-long celebration of 100 years of the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

The Showcase Meeting raises the curtain to the season and from the moment you walk through the gates, the entertainment starts rolling, with a showcase of the high-octane and exhilarating sport of racing. The newly refreshed Hall of Fame, which, celebrates and honors legends from 100 years of the Cheltenham Gold Cup, will be home to the Syndicate Village. Seven syndicates will be displaying and telling the story of the thrill and accessibility of racehorse ownership in a syndicate. On Saturday, racegoers will also be treated to a parade of syndicate horses before racing gets underway. Owning a racehorse could happen sooner than you think.

As part of the Racing Showcase, racing’s most prestigious trophy, the Cheltenham Gold Cup will be under the Crescent walkway. Racegoers will have the opportunity to see up close and have a picture with this prestigious and prized trophy, that everyone in sport dreams of winning.  

Also under the Crescent Walkway, there will be a fence and a hurdle on display, so racegoers can get up close and see what the horses have to jump to achieve Cheltenham glory! On Saturday, a member of the hard-working Ground Staff team will be on hand to tell racegoers about how you build a fence or hurdle, whilst a jockey will join in and tell them about how to jump it.

If you have ever wondered what the role of a farrier is at the racecourse or what happens to horses when they finish their racing career, now is your chance to find out. The team aim to answer all your questions, as racing is showcased through a series of live Q&A’s with Trainers, Jockeys, Owners, Vets, Farriers and lots more people who make racing happen. If you have a burning question, why not send it in on their socials and it will be answered in live interviews, that go out on Racecourse TV.

Each day 45 minutes before the first race, there will be a live Raceday Preview Show in the Parade Ring, featuring the Punters Panel and special guests. It’s going to drive the excitement into an afternoon of superb sporting action.
