The fun fine dining restaurant located on the Bath Road, opened in 2022 and was very quickly recognised by Michelin inspectors shortly after opening, then climbed to number 1 on TripAdvisor.
Offering a 6 and 12 course tasting menu, the restaurant takes diners on a Journey of discovery, inspired by the owners extensive travels around the world, in a fun and immersive experience.
In a statement on Restaurant Journey Instagram, published on Sunday 21st April 2024, the owners, Jeff and Kenni, state “When we took the gamble and opened Journey in 2022 we had no idea how successful and fun it would prove to be! We set out to provide something a bit different and it really was an instant hit with people from far and wide.
It’s obviously not been an easy decision to make whilst at the top of our game, but timing is everything. With so many ideas and projects to fulfil outside of the restaurant, we cannot be in two places at once and have decided to focus on opportunities that allow us a better work-life balance and to continue our passion for travel, food and wine without the obvious restrictions of the restaurant commitment!
The last two years have been an incredible experience serving thousands of fun loving customers, but, the end of this particular Journey, just means the start of another one and we’re more than excited for a new experience. So, come and be a part of the party for the time we have remaining and join us in raising a glass (or two) on what has been one of the most memorable and fun rides of our lives, so far!
See you there!”
Restaurant Journey’s last service will be Saturday 29th June and the last remaining dates are sure to be in high demand.
Journey will continue for the next 2 months to “Put the Fun into Fine Dining” with its theatrical presentation, a floor-to-ceiling graffiti-inspired mural; a dark subtly lit restaurant with each table spotlighted and a fun and nostalgic playlist.
With dishes such as “Japanese Woodland”, “Footsteps across Asia” and “Secrets of the Sahara”, the menu is inspired by the owners extensive travels and guests can experience some of the best ingredients from around the world. One diner described it as “The Best Dining Experience ever” whilst another described it as “Fine dining with real personality”.
For diners wanting the full creative fine dining experience, the 12-course tasting menu costs £135 per person on Fridays and Saturdays with a carefully curated Explorers wine flight available for an additional £95. The restaurant also offers a creatively adventurous six-course menu on Thursdays for £80.
