New Openings

Circo Brasserie

After a three-year wait, Circo Brasserie on Bath Road finally opened its doors on Friday 9 August.

The latest edition to the JM Socials collection of Cheltenham venues, which includes the likes of Prithvi, Holee Cow and Bao + BBQ, Circo promises to bring a little theatre to the Bath Road, with a playful dining environment that takes inspiration from busy French Brasseries of the roaring twenties.

The Swamp

Hot off the heels of its signature Steady Rolling Man pale ale taking home the title of Number One British Beer of 2024, Cheltenham’s own DEYA brewery has opened its second venue in the town, a collaborative beer & cocktail bar with FOUR CATS cocktails.

An intimate, cosy space that perfectly contrasts with the main DEYA taproom, The Swamp can be found in Lansdown Industrial Estate near the original brewery.

Alfonso Gelateria

The most recent addition to Regent Street's bustling independent food scene, Alfonso Gelateria brings the authentic taste of Italian gelato to the heart of Cheltenham. Starting as a traditional food truck in Summertown, North Oxford, the Cheltenham Gelateria marks the company's sixth venue.

Art Café

Another new addition to Regent Street, also hailing from the region of Oxfordshire, is the newly opened Art Café. Found opposite Beefy Boys restaurant, the independent, family-run café prides itself on offering a large variety of free-range, organic, gluten-free, and vegan products; alongside its speciality roasted coffee and signature house-blend crafted on a beautiful farm in Wallingford.

Cavendish House Food Court

As part of its yearlong rejuvenation as a ‘mini-Camden’ style market hall, Cheltenham’s iconic Cavendish house has added a new food court to the space formerly occupied by Café Nero, with an eclectic collection of independent traders.

Featuring Thai curries, bistro salads, American hotdogs, noodles, cakes & pastries all under one roof, with the newest edition, Hong Bao, bringing authentic Chinese flavours to the mix.

Umi Pan Kitchen

Discover a culinary journey through Asia with expertly crafted dishes from China, Thailand, Japan, Korea, and beyond at Umi Pan Kitchen, a new Pan Asian takeaway spearheaded by award-winning sushi chef, Chef Kasun Jaya Sooriya. Find them on Suffolk Parade just down the street from Zizzi’s.

Coming Soon

Casa Loca Tacos

Coming soon to Dunkertons Cider, joining the likes of Bombay Street Food and Kanto Filipino, is Casa Loca Tacos, a new venture from Cheltenham’s favourite food van, The Woozy Pig.

Touting itself as a Mexican street food cantina, Casa Loca Tacos will serve up a fiery menu of tacos, birria and frozen margaritas. Opening this Friday!

Settebello

Following the success of its flagship venue at Gloucester Docks, family-run restaurant, Settebello, is coming to Cheltenham to dish out authentic Italian fare to the masses.

Taking over Belgrave House, the former site of PizzaExpress, diners can expect rich ragu’s, creamy burrata’s, and signature meter-long sharing pizzas when the restaurant opens later this summer.

Café Royal Patisserie

Having only opened last year, La Petite Brasserie on the Upper High Street is expanding, adding a new patisserie, Café Royal Patisserie, to their intimate eatery. Although there isn’t much information available yet, including an opening date, if the main restaurant is anything to go on visitors can expect classic French pastries with South Asian twists.
