Residents and visitors are being asked for their views on Cheltenham’s vibrant and diverse evening and night-time economy (ENTE) as part of our bid to renew Purple Flag status.
The online survey, which is open until Friday 1 November 2024, will not only support Cheltenham’s renewal application but it will also provide the council and its partners with a better understanding of how people experience the towns night-time offer.
The annual award, made by the national Association of Town & City Management, assesses qualities such as safety, diversity, vibrancy, accessibility, cleanliness and partnership working, and it gives positive reassurance to those people planning a night out in the town.
Councillor Victoria Atherstone, cabinet member for safety and communities, said: “We’re very proud of Cheltenham’s Purple Flag status, and we’re aiming to retain it for the tenth consecutive year.
“The national accreditation demonstrates that Cheltenham has a thriving evening and night-time economy, from our restaurants, pubs, clubs to the wide range of entertainment on offer.
“We encourage everyone to take this opportunity to have their say. The survey is quick and easy, and your views will help us and our partners further develop our night-time offer.”
Francesca Inman, chief executive at Cheltenham BID, said: “We’re really proud to support Cheltenham’s bid to keep its Purple Flag status for the tenth year running. Our night-time economy is such an important part of what makes Cheltenham special, offering a safe, welcoming environment for everyone. By sharing your thoughts in this survey, you’ll help us continue to improve and make sure we’re providing the best possible experience. Plus, you’ll have the chance to win a Cheltenham BID gift card to spend in town!”
Cheltenham will be submitting its application to renew Purple Flag in January next year.
