Escape Rooms Cheltenham are running a free Easter trail throughout April, to celebrate the opening of their new Cheltenham town centre venue.
The Great Eggscape is a fun family activity that challenges participants to locate a number of Easter egg posters displayed in shop windows around the town. Each egg has a unique QR code that links to a web page containing a small puzzle to solve. Anyone who solves all the puzzles can win a gift voucher for the escape rooms when they reopen again after lockdown.
Escape Rooms Cheltenham has recently begun fitting out 52 Winchcombe St for a new permanent escape room and two further regularly changing ‘pop-up’ escape rooms. The fit is expected to take about two months and the re-opening will hopefully coincide with the end of lockdown restrictions in the summer.
Escape Rooms Cheltenham has been running on Coronation Square since 2018, but has now outgrown their current venue and is moving to this new much larger venue. There are also plans to offer more
Pete George, Strategic Director, Escape Rooms Cheltenham said - “The initial plan is to open three escape rooms this summer on the ground floor of 52 Winchcombe St, but we also have a further first floor that will offer our customers more entertainment opportunities in time”.
Anyone who wants to keep updated with progress on the new escape rooms can sign up to the Escape Rooms Cheltenham newsletter here.
The Great Eggscape will provide some entertainment for local people while the new escape rooms are being built, and is also an opportunity for Escape Rooms Cheltenham to work with other local businesses.
Megan Prendergast, Product Director, Escape Rooms Cheltenham said - “We hope that local people will enjoy the Great Eggscape trail, and that the trail will also help promote Cheltenham town centre businesses. We are really keen to work with our new neighbours to promote our town.”
The Great Eggscape launches on 2 April and will run until 30 April. It is free for everyone and just requires a mobile device to access the trail map. More details here or from the QR codes displayed in shop windows.
