Laughs continue in August with Alan Ayckbourn’s Absurd Person Singular and later in the season Mischief return with an all-new show, Groan Ups. An hilarious study of a class of six year olds as they grow through their teenager years to the challenges of adulthood.

The Everyman’s chief executive, Mark Goucher said: “This brochure is probably the most important one we have ever sent out. From June 21st the theatre will return to full capacity and start to rebuild the devastation of the past year.

“We will be doing everything to make customers feel safe so they can return to our theatre to enjoy great live entertainment again. We have great plays and musicals through the summer and autumn and of course this year’s pantomime Jack and The Beanstalk starring Tweedy. We look forward to seeing you and providing a great night out.”

Older Everyman audiences will remember the hit TV show from the 70s, The Good Life. Everyone fell in love with Tom and Barbara and their neighbours Margo and Jerry. This new play, based on the series, celebrates everything about suburban eco-warriors and getting along with people, despite their differences.

One night comedy in October includes Russell Howard with his show, Respite; the wonderful Pam Ayres with a new show and Simon Amstell with Sprit Hole – a blissful exploration of love, sex, shame, mushrooms and more.

Andy Hamilton and Jenny Éclair complete the side-splitting comedy shows in November.

Musicals are just what everyone needs for some joyous escapism. Bill Kenwright brings Ghost: The Musical to the Everyman stage in August. Based on the Oscar winning film starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg, this huge show features music by Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart.

The stunning musical Six is finally back with a bang in the autumn. Divorced…Beheaded…Live! The six wives of Henry VIII remix 500 years of historical heartbreak into a celebration of 21st century girl power.

Rock Of Ages is a musical comedy for you rockers at heart. Packed full of rock anthems played by a live band, it includes classics such as Final Countdown; Can’t Fight This Feeling; We Built This City and I Want To Know What Love Is.

Willy Russell’s legendary Blood Brothers is back by popular demand in November. This much-loved show is a moving tale of twins separated at birth who grown up on the opposite side of the tracks and meet again with fatal consequences.

The Everyman is also offering up top class plays including Willy Russell’s acclaimed Educating Rita starring Stephen Tompkinson as Frank and introducing Jessica Johnson as Rita.

Charlie and Stan tells the true story of when the then unknown Charlie Chaplin and Stan Laurel set sail from Liverpool to New York in 1910 as part of Fred Karno’s famous music hall troupe.

They shared cabins, routines and laughter but drifted apart to go on to be the biggest stars of the age. This is the tale of the greatest double act that nearly was.

Agatha Christie fans will be in for a treat when And Then There Were None returns in September and Dial M For Murder, by Frederick Knott continues the whodunnit theme.  Another, this time real, murder mystery is The Ballad Of Maria Marten. Summer 1827 - Maria awaits her lover. A year later her body is found under the floor in a grain sack and the manhunt begins. Hal Chambers and Beth Flintoff’s spine-tingling retelling brings her story back to life.

The Everyman has joined forces with the Theatre Royal, Bath to present The Dresser in September. Norman will be played by the wonderful Julian Clary and ‘Sir’ is Olivier-award winning actor, Matthew Kelly. Not to be missed!

Cheltenham is host to a World Premier in September as celebrated choreographer Matthew Bourne visits the theatre for the first time with a new dance theatre event, The Midnight Bell.

Matthew Bourne’s show explores the under-belly of 1930s London life where ordinary people emerge from cheap boarding houses nightly to pour out their passions, hopes and dreams in the pubs and bars of fog-bound Soho and Fitzrovia.  Step inside The Midnight Bell, a tavern where one particular lonely-hearts club gather to play out their lovelorn affairs of the heart; bitter comedies of longing, frustration, betrayal and redemption.

Finally the season wraps up with the highlight of the year for families – the annual pantomime!

The team behind the award-winning Cinderella have come together again to create Jack and the Beanstalk, a GIANT adventure packed full of songs and laughter.
